Amrize: 3 Key Takeaways for Long-Term Investors

During its earnings call for the third quarter of 2026 on October 29, Amrize (NYSE:AMRZ) announced a modest year-over-year revenue growth of 2.2%. The company is focusing on maintaining profitability amid rising costs by implementing pricing discipline and pursuing structural project growth.

Three key points emerged from the call that are particularly relevant for long-term investors.

Firstly, the company demonstrated significant pricing power, which has led to an increase in margins within its Building Materials segment. Amrize has raised prices for both cement and aggregates and introduced surcharges to counteract escalating transportation expenses. This pricing strategy resulted in a 30 basis point improvement in Building Materials margins, despite adverse weather conditions impacting shipments. Jan Jenisch, the Chairman and CEO, stated, “Importantly, we expanded our margins in Building Materials by 30 basis points. This was thanks to strong pricing growth in cement and aggregates and solid traction with our energy, fuel and freight surcharges to offset oil price-driven cost inflation.”

Secondly, Amrize has been actively pursuing targeted acquisitions to enhance its regional presence and improve earnings. The recent acquisitions of PB Materials and Rapid Redi-Mix have strengthened the company's network in Texas. Both transactions are expected to be accretive to earnings per share (EPS), meaning they will contribute to higher profits allocated to each share of stock. Jenisch remarked, “Both acquisitions are EPS accretive this year and are delivering significant synergies with our aggregates operations and cement network in the region, complementing the planned expansion of our Midlothian cement plant.”

The third takeaway involves the company's internal cost savings initiative, known as ASPIRE, which has successfully generated $73 million in savings so far this year by optimizing vendor sourcing strategies. This progress positions Amrize well to meet its annual savings target of $80 million and a broader goal of $250 million by 2028. Jenisch noted, “We have now achieved year-to-date savings of $73 million, which has proven especially important in the current inflationary environment. This gives us a high degree of confidence in our full year target of $80 million.”

Looking ahead, Amrize sees ongoing demand for materials driven by commercial construction and infrastructure projects. The company is investing in capital expenditures (capex) to enhance distribution terminals and expand quarry reserves. While the current high-interest-rate environment may influence the timing of certain projects, Jenisch expressed optimism about sustained long-term demand, particularly for data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and energy-related projects. He stated, “We expect continued strong long-term demand for these projects.”
