Ripple's XRP Is 65% Below Its Record High. Where Could It Be in 10 Years?

XRP, the cryptocurrency associated with Ripple, is currently trading at approximately $1.29, which is 64.7% lower than its all-time high of $3.65 reached in July 2025. Over the past month, XRP has seen a decline of 15.5%, with fluctuations between $1.25 and $1.56. The past year has been particularly tough for XRP, which has lost nearly 48.8% of its value, a sharper drop compared to Bitcoin's 27.4% and Ethereum's 39.7%. However, XRP has shown some signs of recovery, gaining 15.6% over the last three months.

Looking towards the future, analysts are exploring where XRP could be in the next decade, considering three potential price points: $0.50, $3, and $10. These projections take into account various factors, including payment volume, the tokenization of assets on the XRP Ledger, demand for exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and the overall supply of tokens. Tokenization refers to the process of converting traditional assets, such as bonds or investment funds, into digital tokens on a blockchain.

XRP's current market capitalization stands at approximately $81.6 billion, significantly less than Ethereum's $286.4 billion and Bitcoin's $1.62 trillion. At its peak, 1,000 XRP was valued at $3,650. If XRP were to reach $3 again, its market cap would need to rise to $189.8 billion, which would still be lower than Ethereum's current value. In a more optimistic scenario, if XRP were to hit $10, its market cap would soar to $632.5 billion, surpassing Ethereum but still trailing behind Bitcoin.

The dynamics of token supply further complicate these price forecasts. Ripple maintains a substantial portion of XRP in escrow, which releases tokens at regular intervals. This release increases the circulating supply, meaning that achieving a price of $3 in the future would necessitate a market valuation significantly higher than what it is today. Historically, XRP traded above $3 in January 2018, a time when fewer tokens were available in circulation, indicating that a similar price point may require considerable new investments.

Interest in spot XRP ETFs, which directly hold XRP and can create buying pressure, has diminished since September. As of October 23, total net inflows into these funds reached $1.80 billion, but the latest week showed weak demand. For example, on October 21, the funds saw inflows of $0.7 million, followed by $3.5 million on October 22, but recorded no further net inflows on the remaining days. In contrast, the highest inflow in the past month was $22.6 million on September 25. XRP's price movements have closely mirrored these inflows, starting September at $1.38 and ending at $1.49, reflecting an 8.0% gain that coincided with days of higher inflows. However, as inflows dwindled in October, the price followed suit.

For XRP to regain its value, broader market support and growth in payment transactions are essential. Historical data suggests that broad market rallies have significantly influenced XRP's price increases. For instance, in November 2024, XRP began the month at $0.51 and surged to $1.94, marking a remarkable 279% increase before peaking at $3.40 in January 2025. In comparison, Bitcoin is currently trading around $80,500 and has increased by 23.4% over the past three months, while XRP's growth stands at 15.6%.

Considering these factors, the $3 target appears to be the most feasible for XRP by 2036, potentially elevating the value of 1,000 XRP from $1,290 to $3,000. The $10 scenario seems less likely given current trends. If ETF inflows stabilize around $1.8 billion while new tokens are released from escrow, a bear case of $0.50 may become more plausible, especially if XRP finishes the month below $0.99, indicating further declines.

To achieve the $3 target, XRP must first maintain a price above $0.99 and then reclaim a level above $1.53, which it last reached on September 24. Additionally, ETF inflows need to return to levels seen in September, particularly the $22.6 million inflows. Furthermore, growth in payment processing and the tokenization of assets on the XRP Ledger must accelerate sufficiently to accommodate the influx of tokens from escrow releases. Until XRP surpasses its previous high of $3.65, discussions of reaching $10 may be premature.
