Why Hasbro Stock Jumped Today

On Tuesday, shares of Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) experienced a significant increase of over 11% following the company's announcement of impressive sales and profit figures.

Hasbro reported a 15% year-over-year increase in revenue for its fiscal third quarter, totaling $1.6 billion for the period ending September 27. This growth was largely driven by a remarkable 34% rise in sales from its popular collectible trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, which features wizards and fantasy characters.

CEO Chris Cocks remarked, "We delivered a fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit revenue growth, and Magic: The Gathering topped $600 million in quarterly revenue for the first time."

The company's financial success was further boosted by approximately $55 million in tariff refunds, which contributed to a 52% increase in adjusted operating profit, bringing it to $541 million. Additionally, Hasbro's adjusted earnings per share, aided by stock buyback initiatives, surged 73% to reach $2.90.

Looking ahead, Hasbro anticipates a revenue increase of 7% to 9% in constant currency for the full fiscal year of 2026, with an adjusted operating margin projected between 27% and 28%. This strong operational and financial performance has allowed the company to enhance its balance sheet by reducing debt and investing in growth opportunities while also returning cash to shareholders through dividends.

Furthermore, Hasbro plans to expand its share buyback program. CFO and COO Gina Goetter announced during a conference call with analysts, "Based on the continued strength of our cash flow, we are again increasing our share repurchase target for the year from $200 million to $400 million."
