Bitcoin, ETH, XRP And BNB Show Diverging Price Trends

Recent events in the cryptocurrency market have revealed significant volatility in the prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and BNB, particularly following the recent hack of the Binance exchange. However, the performance of these assets has varied considerably, with Bitcoin maintaining a more stable position compared to its counterparts, which are struggling to regain lost ground.

In the wake of the Binance hack, the cryptocurrency market experienced heightened volatility. Bitcoin has shown resilience, only experiencing a decline of approximately 6.5% from its recent peak, while other major cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and XRP have seen more substantial drops. Currently, Bitcoin is trading around $76,650, having faced resistance in the $81,000 to $82,000 range, and it is now testing its 200-day moving average, which lies between $76,400 and $76,600.

The price movements of the leading cryptocurrencies following the hack reveal a clear hierarchy in their performance. Bitcoin's decline is limited to about 6.5% from the $82,000 range. In contrast, BNB has fallen nearly 14% from its October high of around $810. Ethereum has seen a 20.6% drop from its peak near $2,800, while XRP has experienced the most significant correction, plummeting nearly 23% from its September high of $1.60. Notably, while Bitcoin remains close to its 200-day moving average, both XRP and Ethereum are trading below their key moving averages.

Despite Bitcoin's vulnerabilities, it currently appears to be the strongest asset in this group. However, a daily close below $76,000 could lead to further declines towards $74,000 and possibly $72,000. On the other hand, if Bitcoin can reclaim a position above $78,000, it may indicate a stabilization phase before facing stronger resistance between $80,000 and $82,000. The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering around the 30-point median, suggesting strong selling pressure but nearing the oversold threshold, which could lead to a technical rebound, although this does not guarantee that the bottom has been reached.

BNB is trading at approximately $696 after failing to maintain support at the $750 level, falling below its 100-day moving average at around $707. This decline is particularly significant given BNB's direct association with the Binance ecosystem, which recently suffered a theft estimated at $6.3 billion. Despite this, BNB's correction from its October peak has been less severe than that of Ethereum and XRP. The critical support level for BNB is now seen between $680 and $690; a close below $690 could increase the risk of further declines to $680 and potentially the previous floor around $650. To reverse its current trend, BNB needs to push back above $710, with a recovery to the $735 to $750 range needed to establish a more favorable outlook.

On October 31, Binance announced that it had recovered about 90% of the stolen assets, with the remaining 10% consisting of less liquid tokens that are harder to repurchase quickly. The exchange has also set aside $6.34 billion to cover the losses and plans to gradually resume withdrawals starting November 1. These actions may mitigate the risk of a solvency crisis for Binance, but they do not eliminate the specific pressures facing BNB. The reopening of withdrawals will be crucial in determining whether users choose to retain their assets on Binance or transfer them to alternative platforms.

Ethereum is currently trading around $2,223 after slipping below the $2,300 mark. It is now below its key daily moving averages, with the first identifiable support level between $2,170 and $2,200. Should this support be breached, Ethereum could fall to $2,100 and potentially down to the psychological level of $2,000. For Ethereum to ease selling pressure, it must reclaim the $2,300 level, and a sustained move above $2,450 would signal a stronger return of buyers.

XRP is in the most precarious position among the four assets, trading at around $1.235 after losing the $1.30 support and its 200-day moving average, which is situated around $1.36 to $1.37. The $1.20 level now serves as the primary defense for XRP; if this level is breached, the next supports would be at $1.15 and $1.10. A more negative scenario could push the price back to the $1 threshold. Conversely, XRP needs to recover the $1.30 level, followed by the range between $1.33 and $1.37, to signal a potential recovery.

The volatility experienced on October 30 not only resulted in a general decline across the market but also highlighted the varying strengths of the different cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin continues to defend its long-term support, while BNB shows more resilience than might be expected given its ties to Binance. In contrast, both Ethereum and XRP must work to reclaim several key support levels before any signs of recovery can be confidently asserted.
